Daisey May became part of my family on November 5 2001, When Michael and I adopted her from the St.Louis humane society. If you ever had the chance to meet Daisey you would aggree she is a great pup. We originally went in that day looking for a newborn puppy one we could train from scratch. Then we saw those big brown eyes looking up at us and the rest is history. Daisey May is Beagle with Basset mixed, she has many traits of the Beagle genes. She is fixed so she will never have puppies, wether or not she had any children before we adopted her is unknown to us. I am sure she would make a great Mother, but I firmly believe we have enough unwanted great animals in this world going hungry and being mistreated by bad owners that I would not want to promote bringing another poor animal here. Though I must admit I would have loved to have one of her puppies and see just how perfect a off spring of her's could be. She is very well behaved her previuos owner was very strict with her I had to teach her to get up on the furniture and that she was allowed to get in the bed. She still waits to be invited where she knows some may not want her.She is very smart and learns things quickly. Last summer after we bought our home Michael saw Daisey was hot and showed her the vent with central air pumping out well for rest of the summer she hogged up that vent and didn't let any cool air into us. She is very well trained in the house, and it is system she and I have, after she goes out for her walk she comes in the door and sits down waiting for her treat, she gets three walks a day for sure somtimes more depending on how much is going on. She and I (George) take afternoon naps together, she understands english better then some of the Americians I have met here in Jersey, I will ask her when I am getting ready for my afternoon nap if she is ready for a nap nine times out of ten Daisey May beats me to the bed.She travels well in the car and won't leave George's side, she is a one owner dog thats for sure. While she loves Michael she tags with George, (his secret is all those treats in his pocket) I (George) have always been a dog person long before we saw fit that we could adopt a dog I carried a box of treats with me in the car and always had something for the dog's I would meet along my day in my pocket. Daisey May to me is my number one four legged buddy and no animal will ever come to close to what she means to me. I am hoping she will live a very long time because I am not sure I will ever be able to have another dog after having Daisey May in my life. Severel of my family members and friends have aggreed with that comment and Daisey May has more then one home lined up and waiting if anything ever happened to Michael or I. Only one other Dog has ever touched my heart as Daisey May has and his name was Benji. My family adopted Benji not by choose but by the demand of Benji, he just showed up on our doorstep one day and never left . Benji was hit by a hit and run on December 19 1983 there are few things I can remeber about my childhood but that there is one of them it was at 6am I found him along side Texas Road in Monroe frozen body laying in the ditch. It's funny how we can remeber certain things. Anyhow on this page in the future I intend to get more pictures of Daisey May and of our kitty and tell you cute little stories about them.
Socks,
He is a yellow and white spayed with all four paws declawed, He has FIV and can not be around un-infected cats at all. I am not a cat person though until Socks finds a new home or the pet angels come for him he will stay with us. If you are interested in adopting him be sure to e mail me. He is litter box trained as long as the litter box is clean he remains healthy with some ups and downs, He is very affectionate very much like a dog. He is human dependent, unlike most cats he needs and wants the human contact. He is fixed and up to date on all his shots. He recieved his name because when he wants attention he walks around with a dirty sock in his mouth meowing as loud as he can, he is not just partial to socks he also will pick up anything from pillows to stuffed anamals. He wears a bandana and likes it, which is unusual for a cat to do but he does. He has a lot of good traits.
